"COTTON CANDY PLEASE, BUT MAKE IT ICE CREAM"
What's one of the things that comes to mind when you think about a kids party or event, "COTTON CANDY!!!!" Yes, cotton candy is on the tops of every kid's mind. And I have the perfect activity and recipe for your next kids party, and trust me it will be a hit. This fun activity is great for a kid's summer or spring party. The kids will be able to get their hands involved, learn a little science while they're at it by turning a liquid into a solid. And if you're looking for a themed party idea, this is great for that too. And finally the kids get to dig in and taste it and be proud of their work. I don't know about your kids, but mine LOVE cotton candy and ice cream and they have a ball creating this each and every time we do it. Enjoy!
COTTON CANDY ICE CREAM IN A BAG
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 cup 2% Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tablespoons Stir Cotton Candy Ice Cream Base Sugar or plane ol' sugar for vanilla
- 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Rock Salt or Ice Cream Salt
- 1/2 Gallon Ziplock bag of Salt
- 1 Gallon Ziplock Bag
- 2 Sandwich Bags
Pour milk, vanilla, and sugar into one sandwich bag, push the air out & zip it up and double it up.
Shake the ingredients around to mix completely
Add ice to the gallon bag until it is halfway full, you may have to add some ice part way through once it begins to melt. Add the rock salt
Place the sandwich bag with the wet ingredients in the gallon Ziplock and zip it shut
Shake it like crazy and squish and squeeze until it freezes - approx. 10mins. (pro tip, use oven mitts cause it will get cold).
Put in the freezer while making the strawberry topping (Don't let it get too frozen)
